Reliance House was constructed in the 1950’s as a replacement for the original Reliance House, which was destroyed during the 1941 blitz of World War 2. Prior to the residential conversion in 2019-20, the building was a four storey office block.
Working with Falconer Chester Hall Architects, EBC designed new three-storey rooftop structures, a steel transfer structure above the original flat roof, and internal strengthening of the existing structural frame. The building now provides 139 apartments and communal spaces.
