The Proud Trust have roots that date back to the 1970’s. By the mid-2010’s, the organisation was outgrowing its building on Sidney Street, and demolition then rebuilding commenced in Autumn 2020.
The new building completely fills a constricted city centre site. EBC were structural engineers for the scheme. CFA piled foundations were required to minimise disturbance to the adjoining properties, and sustainable drainage requirements meant that a rainwater attenuation tank had to be buried below the building. The superstructure is steel-framed with concrete-metaldeck floors.
Cost: £2.5m.
Completed: 2022.
