EBC carry out civil and structural consultancy services for Chester-based Horan Power Engineering, primarily on a large portfolio of existing solar farms around the UK. This work includes carrying out structural assessments of solar farms following major storms, particularly if damage has occurred.
Parciau Solar farm is a large 13.9MW solar farm, in an exposed upland location in North Wales, which suffered some damage following Storm Arwen in November 2021. EBC inspected the damage and advised the client regarding the cause of the damage, and made recommendations for repairs and upgrading, to reduce the risk of further damage occurring.
EBC have carried out similar inspections of storm-damaged solar farms in the southwest and northeast of England, the Midlands and Wales.
Additionally, EBC have been investigating the potential corrosion of solar support structures around the UK.
EBC also carry out general civil inspections of solar farms, including the condition of buildings, cable-basements, access-tracks, drainage, boundary fences, etc.
