Having completed the structural design of the Barn at Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, EBC Ltd were invited to join the design team for the woodland lodges project, at the same location. The Lodges are seven new garden rooms that are laid out in the grounds of Moor Hall, hidden amongst the trees and overlooking the lake.
EBC Ltd were responsible for the design of the piled foundations and the steel chassis for each garden room, which had to comply with strict ecological requirements to avoid damage to the existing protected trees.
Our solution was to use small diameter mini-piles, that directly support a raised steel chassis, and this ensures that soil oxygen and groundwater levels are not affected by the new buildings.
